Lorna verjaar op Kilimanjaro
Nie almal het die moed of vasberadenheid om 'n berg soos Kilimanjaro aan te durf nie, maar vir Lorna Mooney (60) van Oudtshoorn was dit 'n droom wat sy vasbeslote was om te bewaarheid.Op 21 Junie, haar 60ste verjaars-dag, het sy dié indrukwekkende mylpaal bo-op Afrika se hoogste berg, Mount Kilimanjaro, gevier.Die uitdagende sewe-dae staptog neem deelnemers deur verskillende terreine wat wissel van digte reënwoude, klipperige roetes, tot sneeubedekte en ysbelaaide hoogtes. Kilimanjaro se piek lê op 'n hoogte van 5 895 meter bo seespieël en word internasionaal beskou as een van die mees ikoniese staptogte ter wêreld.
